Control

Self-hosted device agent

Remote control for machines you own.

Control runs an agent on your Windows, Linux, Android and macOS machines and exposes them as MCP tools. Ask in plain language; the agent does it on the actual device — shell, files, input, screen, browser.

You run the server. Devices connect out to it, so nothing needs a public IP or a forwarded port.

What it is

An agent on the machine, not a remote desktop.

Remote desktop gives you pixels and a mouse. This gives an AI model a typed tool catalogue on the device: read the screen as text, run a shell command, move a file, drive a browser, send input. It works while nobody is signed in, because a service holds the connection.

Platforms

Windows, Linux, Android, macOS.

Windows

Full tool catalogue: shell, UI automation, screen capture, input, browser control. Runs as a service.

Download installer

Android

Accessibility-driven input and screen reading, app control, device state. Runs headless in the background.

Built per deployment

macOS

Shell, files and screen. Same protocol and the same account as every other device. macOS 13+, Intel or Apple Silicon.

curl -fsSL https://example.com/mac.sh | bash

Remove it: curl -fsSL https://example.com/mac-uninstall.sh | bash

Linux

x86-64 desktop with glibc: KDE, GNOME, Xfce and COSMIC on Wayland or X11. Ships its own .NET; with systemd it runs as a user service plus an optional boot service.

curl -fsSL https://example.com/linux.sh | bash

Remove it: curl -fsSL https://example.com/linux-uninstall.sh | bash

How it works

Three moving parts.

  1. Install the agent

It registers with your server and opens an outbound tunnel. No inbound port, no public IP, works behind NAT.

  2. Claim the device to your account

Sign in once on the device. Every machine on the account shows up in one place.

  3. Ask for what you want

Chat from the app, the web panel, or drive it from your own code through the admin API.

Models

Whatever this deployment has configured.

Models come from the server, not the client, so this list is whatever the operator has enabled and given a credential. No model is offered until a provider key exists for it.

Cost

The software has no billing in it.

There is no subscription, seat count or licence check anywhere in this codebase — nothing to unlock, and every tool is available on every device. What a given deployment charges, if anything, is set by whoever runs it, along with its own terms and payment handling.

Running it yourself, your only cost is the AI usage billed by whichever model provider you configure, plus the box you host on.

Fork & Self-host

Run your own branded deployment.

Want your own domain, apps, and control plane? Control is designed to be forked and independently deployed. Stamp your brand, configure your model providers, and host your fleet with zero phone-home dependencies.
